00 — Expertise

Mobile engineering, end to end.

Flutter apps for iOS and Android, the Firebase and Google Cloud services behind them, and the architecture and pipelines that let a team keep shipping.

01 — Engagement

Ways to work together

Full-time

Senior remote role

A long-term seat on your product team as a Senior Mobile or Flutter Engineer, working remotely with good overlap for European and US hours.

Best for: Product teams hiring a senior mobile engineer

Contract

Long-term mobile contract

Dedicated monthly capacity to build, own or extend your Flutter app, with regular demos and production releases.

Best for: Startups and scale-ups shipping a mobile product

Audit

Architecture review

A focused review of an existing Flutter codebase covering architecture, state management, performance, testing and release pipeline.

Best for: Teams scaling an app or preparing for a rewrite

Leadership

Team mentoring

Code review, pairing and standards for your mobile engineers, so the whole team ships better Flutter code.

Best for: Engineering managers growing a mobile team

02 — Pillars

Core engineering pillars

01

Cross-Platform Mobile Engineering

End-to-end iOS and Android development built with Flutter and Dart. Specialized in Clean Architecture, reactive UI, complex state management (BLoC, Riverpod), offline-first data sync, and automated deployments via Codemagic and Fastlane.

One codebase, two stores, and an app that stays fast and stable as the product grows.

What this covers

  • Feature-first Clean Architecture with clear domain, data and presentation layers
  • Reactive UI and state management with BLoC, Riverpod or Provider
  • Offline-first storage and sync with Hive, Isar or SQLite
  • Real-time features over WebSockets: chat, presence and live updates
  • Unit, widget and integration tests on every critical flow
  • Signed builds and store releases automated with Codemagic and Fastlane
02

Serverless Cloud & Backend Integration (Firebase & GCP)

Designing resilient mobile-cloud architectures. Integrating Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore schemas, Cloud Functions, real-time WebSockets, push notifications (FCM), and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.

A backend contract the app can rely on: secure, observable and cheap to run.

What this covers

  • Firebase Authentication and OAuth2 / JWT flows
  • Cloud Firestore data modelling and security rules
  • Cloud Functions for server-side logic and integrations
  • Push notifications with Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • REST and GraphQL API integration with typed models
  • Crashlytics and analytics wired in from day one
03

Mobile Architecture, Audits & Leadership

Helping engineering teams scale existing Flutter codebases. I conduct code audits, refactor legacy state management, fix memory leaks, optimize app startup performance, and establish CI/CD pipelines.

A codebase your team can move fast in, and a release process nobody dreads.

What this covers

  • Written codebase audit with prioritised recommendations
  • Incremental migration of legacy state management
  • Memory, jank and startup-time profiling and fixes
  • CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Codemagic or Bitrise
  • Coding standards, code review and mentoring for mid-level engineers

03 — Stack

The mobile stack

Mature, well-supported tools, so your app is easy to extend, test and hire for long after launch.

  • Dart
  • Native Swift (iOS)
  • Native Kotlin (Android)

04 — Process

From alignment to release

  1. 01

    Align

Understand the product, the users and the constraints with product, design and backend.

  2. 02

    Architect

Agree the app architecture, API contracts and data model before the first feature is built.

  3. 03

    Ship

Short sprints, reviewed pull requests, automated tests and builds testers can install every week.

  4. 04

    Iterate

Store releases, crash and performance monitoring, and continuous improvement after launch.

05 — FAQ

Common questions

Are you open to full-time roles or only contracts?

Both. I’m available for full-time senior remote roles and for long-term mobile contracts. Short architecture audits are also an option if you need a focused review first.

How much overlap do you have with our time zone?

I’m based in WAT (UTC+1), which overlaps fully with UK and European working hours and gives a solid afternoon overlap with US East Coast teams.

Can you join an existing Flutter codebase?

Yes. I start by reading the code, the architecture and the release process, then deliver small, reviewed changes early while I learn the domain. Audits and incremental refactors are a core part of what I do.

Do you work with native iOS and Android code?

Yes. When a feature needs it, I write platform channels and native modules in Swift and Kotlin, and I’m comfortable in Xcode and Android Studio for signing, profiling and store builds.

How do you handle testing and releases?

Unit, widget and integration tests on the critical paths, CI on every pull request, and automated signed builds with Codemagic or Fastlane through to App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

Who owns the code?

You do. Everything lives in your repositories and accounts, with documentation and architecture notes so the team can carry on without me.
